A. No one can get on anyone else's Medicare. You were probably on Medi CAID before, that is the public health insurance for low-income or children with disabled parents. You are now past the age to get on Medicaid again. The legislation is referring to Health Insurance, like through an employer or privately paid. Both Medicaid and Medicare have their own rules regarding eligibility (ex. Medicare you must be over 65 years old or disabled), eligibility rules are very strict! If your dad as a policy under his work, you might could get on that, but they will still have to pay whatever monthly premium. Perhaps, if your mom is getting her Medicare through an Advantage plan, like Humana, BCBS, United Health Care etc, she would be able to get a… [cont.]

Regarding the proposed health care plan what is the purpose for a "end of life" councilor at age 65?
Q. I'm well over 65 and see no reason to include such a service unless it's to promote the theory that maybe it's time to ignore medical care and consider doing the right thing and prepair to leave this world and not waste money that could be used on a younger person.

A. I'm over 60 and its because you can't live your life with your head in the sand. Sooner or later it could be us on that bed with tubes going in and out, groaning in unstoppable pain or doped up to the gills with no cure possible. The proposal is to offer (not demand) a paid for session with a councilor to discuss end of life arrangements while we are in sound health and good mind. Like how far we want them to go if we have an incurable cancer or are Alzheimer's victims and have a massive stroke. If you are really over 65 then you have seen the destruction of family ties that happen when someone is brain dead or past any cure and some want to continue useless therapy and others say to let the patient go gently. The choice isn't up to the… [cont.]

Does Obama and Pelosi consider "old age" a pre existing condition in their new health care reform...?
Q. if not then why aren't the seniors part of the "normal" health care coverage like every other american? why are the elderly segregated?
Asked by Ron R - Mon Nov 2 13:36:57 2009 - Government - 2 Answers - Comments
A. Obama said that the the elderly should except the fact that they are getting old and dieing. Instead of using up medical resource, they should seek concealing and special groups to help them cope, and prepare for the after life. He said it on the radio, so I have no link to put up.

Q. There's too much stuff that I get to hear about that I have no control over but effects me!

A. I think its easy to become overstimulated with too much information sometimes and because even though the Internet and other electronic media give us the impression that its a smaller world, for me I find there is a great angst as you describe because I know about all this stuff that's happening and feel like the onus is on me to do something about it even though there is no way i can do anything about alot of these things. I think alot of pressure and stress are unnecessarily created by the modern myth that we can change the world one individual at a time and guilt from one's own perceived inaction.

Why is "age discrimination" technically illegal in hiring, and how can I do it anyway?
Q. Nothing against old people, but there's no way my company's health insurance plan could afford to handle more than a couple of them at a time. Given the financial realities to companies, why is age discrimination illegal, and how can I do it anyway, as an employer, without getting caught or getting in trouble? I don't want to hire people older than 50 or so, unless another of our old employees retires first. Look, I'd hire them if we had national healthcare, but this is America, and we don't.

A. You shold consult a lawyer, but there are plenty of places around here where I've never seen even a single old person working. Pretty big chains so there must be a way they're getting away with it.

How do I make "lant"? How long do you age urine and under what conditions before it becomes lant?
Q. How do I make "lant"? I was looking at instructions for making salt peter (*salt petre?), the old fashioned way. The instructions called for the use of "lant" and they basically told me that lant is aged urine. My question is how long do you age urine before it becomes lant? Does the urine need to be aged under special conditions (do I need to put the urine in a place with a certain humidity range, can it be aged in the presence of light or must light be absent during aging, etc). Or, could I just pee in a bucket and let it sit in the garage. Sorry if this is gross. If you are wondering why I want to know this stuff it's because I'm interested in how chemicals and pioneer goods (like soap) were made prior to the… [cont.]

A. Wow - an interesting question rather than the run of the mill chemistry homework questions. Urine is a pretty interesting substance and contains ammonium salts which can be concentrated by aging the urine. Leaving urine to age will allow the more volatile amines and water to evaporate and provide a more concentrated ammonium salt. As far as making it goes, I am not sure how you go about that but try - this is what science is all about - experiment, refine your theory and try something different. Try aging urine from your first trip after you wake up in the morning, this is usually more concentrated and will age faster if my theory is correct. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

A. First you need to see a doctor to find the cause of the stiffness, and to make sure you wont make it worse by doing yoga, while proper nutrients are essential to vitality, adeduate fluid intake , vitamins, good mental health are just as important. Stay away from processed foods (cheeses like sliced and velveeta, sandwich meats, anything with high sodium. You have to take care of mind ,body and soul. But start with a good check up to see if there is anything that needs to be fixed first and what diseases run hereditary in your family!! g OOD LUCK!
