What is the History of the death rate of heart patients before ECGs?
Q. I basically need to know how ECGs (electrocardiography) has affected the death rate of heart patients. I need to know how the death rate has reduced, as well as facts and any links to websites. Please help me, I need this for my science coursework, but I can't find anything on the internet. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks.

A. ECG has no effect on the deathrate, it is just information, it is the treatment / medication that changes the death rate.

How long does it take for a death to be reported to social Security?
Q. My daughters father and I were never married, and shortly after she was born she started receiving social security from his benefits. He was retired veteran and main income was VA and SS. He passed away 2 weeks ago, and I called social security and they say they have no record of his death, but that once they do, the amount she gets every month will automatically go up. Any idea how long it takes for a death to be reported? Her father and I have no contact, so I'm not sure if I need to find the death certificate and send to social security myself.
Asked by - Tue Nov 24 00:02:06 2009 - Law & Ethics - 4 Answers - Comments

A. Contact the funeral home who handled the arrangements and see if they sent the information to Social Security. How old are the children? If they are old enough have them call SS as the daughter of the deceased and report the death. It is a simple input that makes the change over night. By the way, if there was not a surviving spouse, the children need to file an application to share in the $255 death benefit. If this is the case, call SS back and make an appointment to file for the LSDP on behalf of your daughters.

Q. What is the death knight in wow compared to other characters?

A. Deathknights are a dime a dozen. They can be fun to play but because of the surpluss they are not often desired for groups. Most DK's are unskilled and give the class a bad rep. They can be very effective at tanking and DPS but this will probibly change in the next patch. If you don't have one don't bother unless you want another high level toon that no one wants to group with. They can serve as a good farming or bank alt since you can start at 55 and don't have to work all the way up and they start with a few medium size bags.

Why did God make death horrendously painful for some, but blissfully peaceful for others?
Q. God-fearing people who've tithed and prayed fervently might end up meeting their fate is any number of grisly ways. Ironically, thoroughly evil people might simply pass away in their sleep, without suffering, just peacefully drift away into death's embrace. Why has God made death so easy for those who seem to have strayed from Its rules, and yet frequently so horrible for those who've committed to and worshipped It?

How do you avoid thinking about your death and possible deaths of loved ones?
Q. It's really worrisome to me. I think it has to do with my sister (19) refusing to talk with my Dad because they had a falling out, and how if one of them were to pass tomorrow (God Forbid) that it would be really sad for them to leave on such bad terms. What's your advice? How do you avoid thinking about your death and possible deaths of loved ones?
Asked by JT - Tue Aug 24 22:19:47 2010 - Psychology - 7 Answers - Comments

A. You should stop dwelling on things that you can't control. The minute you start to think about death, stop and get busy doing something to take your mind off of it. If you work on this for a while, you will find that you think of it less often, and soon you will realize stop worrying about it. If there is anything you can do to help mend your sister's relationship with your dad, that is what you should work on. If they could even talk and agree that they both created the bad feelings and now they should move on, that would be so good for everyone. Mistakes were made and now the only thing to do is to put it in the past and start again.

How quick would death be if a person suffered a gunshot wound to the occipital lobe of their brain?
Q. I need to know how quick death would be for a person who suffers a gunshot wound to their occipital lobe (brain) (with no medical attention) for a research project.

A. Most gunshot wounds (or other penetrating trauma) to the brain cavity result in either instant or rapid death - though there are rare exceptions. (By rapid, I mean within seconds or minutes - often regardless of advanced medical and surgical intervention.)

How does a miscarriage compare to the death of a child?
Q. I consider a miscarriage a death of a child, but for the purpose of this question, "death of a child" means a child that had already been born. Are the two comparable? Is the death of a child worse?
Asked by Most Amazing Thing - Wed Apr 19 01:06:08 2006 - Other - Pregnancy & Parenting - 5 Answers - 2 Comments

A. Both loses are devastating but the main difference is how people will react to the person who lost the child. Miscarriages are seen by many as not "real" relationships so the person's grieving period is suppose to be shorter. In some case people do not even expect you to grieve. (Even though that is totally ridiculous) For a born child, people react totally different. It really has to do with how a person percieves their miscarriage. For a born child a person has had more time to bond, however, carrying a fetus has a lot of bonding qualities attached to it. So to answer your question, it depends on the person and how they react to it.

Is death the natural cycle of life and recycle of energy and food?
Q. Watching animal world, discovery, national geographic make me realized that death is the natural cycle of life? I find death is cruel and very frightful. I wonder why it is like that in nature? Is our creator has that kind of character? Or is it the result of sin and the evil angel? Could what is happening in the world now is not the natural order of things? I was contemplating the order of things without death? How is the food chain recycling work then? Will the wild animals still have fangs, claw and killer instinct then? I wonder? Would that world without death will be designed differently? @ all. None of you answer the question.

A. When God Created you, and all mankind, in His Image, He created a Purely Spiritual Being. He did not give man the power to override his Perfect Creation. So the truth is that we are still as God Created us - Perfect Spiritual Beings. Some of us thought it would be fun to separate from God and have a life of our own. We could not separate. But we could make up a dream world wherein we would feel separated from God. The physical world you speak of is the dream world man made. We are stuck in the dream until we realize our true estate and awaken again to the awareness of God. To do that awakening, Jesus came as our way shower and taught that we need to see God in our fellow man because we are One. Everything God Created is Perfect,… [cont.]

A. The average person doesn't have any near-death experiences. The average person lives and then dies. Nearly dying is definitely NOT average. There is some controversy as to whether near-death experiences occur at all. You may have nearly died, but what you think you saw and felt is a matter of quite a bit of disagreement. SInce there is residual electrical activity in the body after death, it's possible electrical impulses cause it. It's also possible the brain "makes up" something to fill in the gap left in memory. There is also the definition of death to contend with. Is this when the heart stops beating or when there is no brain activity? Bring in religion and there's even more problems. Something to prove a death other than death certificate?
Q. My family was planning a trip to Italy and we have the plane tickets purchased and everything. However, my dad passed away suddenly and now the airlines need a death certificate to prove my dad has passed away. But death certificates take forever to be processed, and we leave for Italy at Christmastime. We have tried asking everywhere, including the airlines and everyone just seems too hard to get a hold of. Wonder if anyone knows anything else.

A. It depends on the airline, but you might want to see if they'll accept an official letter from the funeral home you used for your Dad (and then get one). I do know an obituary is usually not enough. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your father.

What are the likely causes of death when an autopsy is inconclusive?
Q. Often we read news stories where an autopsy on relatively fresh and unmutilated the body of an alleged murder victim is inconclusive as to the cause of death. What are the likely causes of death when such an autopsy is inconclusive? Are autopsies actually that hard or is the inconclusive finding a more political thing than a medial truth? If not, what medical causes of death are so hard to identify? For example the Kelli Lynn Murphy case.
Asked by DethByFlavor - Wed May 25 13:01:18 2011 - Other - Health - 1 Answers - 1 Comments

A. I don't think "inconclusive" means it leans one way or another, it simply means they can't say for sure what the cause was. Doesn't even mean it's suspicious at all.

Q. What are the chances of death and complications for me getting gastric bypass surgery? I already know I'm getting it and I'm about to go through therapy. A. The chances of death during gastric bypass surgery are very slim. The procedure is very safe. Every patient is different, so the chances or complications will differ. Much of it will have to do with what shape you are in prior to the surgery. Your doctor will take all of that into consideration and will tell you what complications can arise. At your age they may not even consider the surgery. Your body is going through a lot of changes. See your doctor and have him/her refer you to a bariatric surgeon. The surgeon will determine if you are a good candidate and will probably put you on a weigh loss program first. The process from the time of your initial consultation and when the surgery takes place can be several months. I had a gastric… [cont.]

What kind of death coverage does metlife provide?
Q. I just got life insurance and I'm 22 and I pay $23 monthly for $300,000 coverage for 20 years, and I forgot to ask what kind of death it covers, such as accidental death, natural death and terminal illness death, does anyone know? And is this a good deal?
Asked by - Mon Jul 18 16:50:03 2011 - Insurance - 3 Answers - Comments

A. If you really got life insurance, then it covers all kinds of death (with the possible exception of suicide). Contrary to one of the other answer, murder by the beneficiary is covered; the murderer cannot receive the benefits, but the policy does still cover the death; it just pays someone else instead of that beneficiary. If you got accidental death insurance, then it only covers accidental death, and nothing else. Sometimes, someone thinks that life insurance was purchased, but it is accidental death insurance, not life insurance. Make sure that you know what kind of insurance you have.

The change and transformation could be anything from the way you view your spirituality to the way you handle money. But something major will shift in your life. In this case via this travelling. In my last question, "What makes you fear or love roller coasters" someone answered, "The thrill, adrenalin rush, coming so close to death at any second, trying something new" Why is coming so close to death so thrilling? A. Any extreme sports can kill you. Race cars, hiking, sky diving and roller coasters. It has been known that mechanical problems on roller coaster rides have killed many riders since the Roller Coaster was invented. The risk of dying is a thrill that causes a chemical reaction in your blood stream. The chemical releases are called stereoids. Your body produces stereoids naturally when faced with fight or flight. Those that put their precious body at risk with extreme sports are addicted to steroids. A steroid addict will betray the human body. The steroids' high is not worth a life time.
