From Google Video Search: "bruce ames" Identify any areas that are vague or ambiguous.? Q. "By making obesity a disease, government does all Americans large or not a disservice." Obesity should not be labeled a disease, Sonia Arrison contends in the following viewpoint. She asserts that while obesity is becoming more prevalent in the United States, treating it as an illness instead of the result of poor dietary choices would unfairly harm healthy Americans. By calling obesity a disease, the condition could be treated using Medicare or Medicaid funds, which come from the taxpayer dollars of all Americans, fat or thin. Arrison concludes that individuals must be aware of the consequence of their overeating and realize that society will not pay for their higher health care costs. Arrison is the director of technology studies at the… [cont.] Asked by Bailey - Sat Apr 19 16:29:41 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Try taking out the little bits of slang, like "the kicker" and "no-brainer". They stand out too much in a piece that is so factual. Also, you seem to have two arguments here: that obesity should not be treated as a disease in order to avoid financially punishing thinner people, and that children should be taught to make better nutritional choices rather than having those choices made for them. Whatever my opinion on either of those issues, you should either make the tie between them clearer or focus on one or the other. Answered by legbamel - Sat Apr 19 16:50:00 2008 Was Ivins "suicided" instead of committing it?
Q. Yes, Dr. Bruce E. Ivins is now 'Suspect Number One' for the 2001 anthrax attacks on America. He supposedly killed himself (with relatively slow-acting tylenol-codeine) rather than face criminal indictment, trial and possible execution. Among the strangeness surrounding his 'suicide', Ivins died even before the formal complaint was finished that was to be filed against him. Case closed? Not even close. Odds are the 'rats' in our US government are trying to close off the trail so people will quit cornering them again and again with the truth of their obvious attempts not to investigate the anthrax attacks and bring the true guilty parties to justice. Odds are these same US government rats were the perpetrators of that anthrax… [cont.] Asked by Willie Mammoth - Sun Aug 3 19:18:11 2008 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments A. He knew he was under investigation and was about to be arrested. The thing that I don't understand is what was HIS motive. I know the motive behind the anthrax attack judging from the intended victims but this is a scientist who would have known the danger of sending anthrax spores through the US mail. That really makes no sense to me at all. The fact that there was a letter in each envelope that warned the recipients to take antibiotics tells me that death was not the real intent. To me, that means there is a lot more to be determined. Answered by BekindtoAnimals22 - Sun Aug 3 19:32:49 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "bruce ames" |

Life Link's Acetyl-L-Carnitine 500mg 180Caps
Store: House of Nutrition Price: $47.99 USD Condition: new Acetyl-L-Carnit ine (ALC) is a substance produced in mitochondria ? the microscopic energy-generato rs found in every cell in your body. ALC plays an essential role in the complex process of extracting energy from carbohydrates for use by cells, and also participates in the synthesis and regulation of certain amino acids and proteins. ALC has profound influences on tissues and processes throughout the body. Medical research has revealed a few of these: ALC protects nerve cells, promotes repair of damaged nerve tissue, regulates cortisol levels, and repairs age-related damage to mitochondria. There is now a rapidly growing interest in ALC combined with R-alpha-Lipoic Acid as an anti-aging treatment, thanks to the work of Bruce Ames at UC Berkeley and his collaborators. (For more information on this, see the articles on ?rejuvenation? in the reference archive on Life Link?s website ? or join the Yahoo group on rejuvenation.) ALC has been successfully used to treat dementia, Parkinson?s disease, alcoholism, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fatigue due to aging. It has also been shown to improve recovery after brain injury, to improve immunity, and to protect muscle tissue from free-radical damage. It is often used as a cognition enhancer by people with normal mental function, and has been suggested as a treatment for drug-induced peripheral neuropathy. Acetyl-L-carnit ine can cause nausea or agitation in some people, and it slows the metabolism of alcohol ? thereby allowing small amounts of alcohol to cause inebriation. Anecdotal evidence suggests that the combined regimen of ALC and R-alpha-lipoic acid can reverse Raynaud?s Syndrome and Restless Leg Syndrome, and accelerate the regrowth of damaged nerves. This supplement is best taken with food. ALC can cause heartburn; this problem can be avoided by dissolving a half-teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) in water and drinking it along with the ALC. Pronunciation: acetyl-L-carnit ine (ass-SEE-till ELL CAR-nih-teen), mitochondria (my-toh-KAHN-dr ee-ah). Note: the singular is ?mitochondrion? . From Google Product Search: "bruce ames" |
